Backfired

Laura and I are having such a GREEAAT time the last few days. We are taking our time getting started, taking long breaks, not thinking ahead, meeting lots of interesting nice people with very interesting lives, and most importantly, enjoying each other. We were the very last pilgrims to walk into the town of Palas de Rei last evening. We had no plans for where we were going to sleep and eat and most establishments have began closing for the season. We came upon a very nice set of cabins settled on the right ridge surrounded by manicured lawns. This was a very nice place as we had booked Laura's mom here on our very first trip. We definitely did not want to spend this much money but we decided to go in and have dinner and use their wifi to book a place. Well the very first possibility that popped out was this very exact spot at 50% off as it was so late in the day. We quickly booked the cabin and had this wonderful dinner.
Soup of spinach, garbanzo and cod to complement foil wrapped Salmon. I had Revuelto (omelette) of different types of mushroom with ultra crispy ham.
Of course our poor planning or no planning plus my penchant for not using credit cards ended with this.

We were surprised to realize that we only had 68 km left to reach Santiago, yikes! We still have 7 days including today but we did plan to walk to Muxia and we would be a day short. We could speed up and walk longer distances and make up a day but we were torn about reaching Santiago without our present walking group. We pretty much know every peregrino that is walking with us that started in France. Plus we have card games planned at the next town already, that type of planning we don't forego.
